Chairman of the Yuksalish National Movement meets with the Ambassador of Japan to Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Chairman of the Yuksalish National Movement Akmal Burkhanov met with Yoshinori Fujiyama, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Uzbekistan.
The parties exchanged views on the development of relations between Uzbekistan and Japan, including the expansion of interparliamentary contacts, the establishment of cooperation between civil society institutions. It was noted that in Japan there is an intensive preparation for the visit of the head of Uzbekistan.
In addition, the possibilities of organizing meetings of specialists to improve anti-corruption systems and public administration, the exchange of experience between them were considered.
The emphasis is on the further development of the bonds of friendship between Tashkent and Nagoya. In particular, Yoshinori Fujiyama expressed great interest in organizing a trip of Nagoya city deputies to the capital of Uzbekistan, their meetings with colleagues from the Tashkent city and regional Kengashes of people’s deputies.
Representatives of the Yuksalish National Movement also suggested considering the possibility of attracting leading higher educational institutions to Uzbekistan, in particular, opening branches of large universities like Nagoya University in the republic.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Uzbekistan noted that the upcoming elections of deputies to the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis and local Kengashes of people’s deputies are key for a renewed Uzbekistan, they are the focus of public attention.
Akmal Burkhanov, chairman of the Yuksalish National Movement, emphasized that the current elections will be very different from the previous ones, the election campaign will be much more active, in conditions of serious competition. In particular, if last time four parties fought for seats in parliament, this year there are five parties, quota allocation in the Legislative Chamber for representatives of the Ecological Movement of Uzbekistan has been canceled.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed in the near future to begin the implementation of the tasks discussed.
