Ceremonial Reception Held in Tashkent on the Occasion of Azerbaijan’s Victory Day
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Heydar Aliyev Azerbaijan Cultural Center at the embassy organized a ceremonial reception in Tashkent to mark Azerbaijan’s Victory Day.
The event was attended by Uzbekistan’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Babur Usmanov, representatives of government agencies and international organizations, members of the diplomatic corps, cultural and scientific figures, as well as members of the Azerbaijani community.
Before the official program, guests had the opportunity to view a photo exhibition dedicated to Victory Day.
Following the performance of the national anthems of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Uzbekistan, Huseyn Guliyev, delivered a welcoming address. He noted that relations between the two countries had reached the level of strategic partnership over the years of independence.
In his speech, the Ambassador emphasized that “under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, the 44-day war resulted in the liberation of occupied territories, where reconstruction efforts are now actively underway.”
He also expressed gratitude to Uzbekistan for its consistent support of Azerbaijan’s position, highlighting that Uzbekistan was the first country to congratulate Azerbaijan on the fifth anniversary of Victory Day.
During the event, a video presentation showcased visits by the leaders of both countries, events in Karabakh, and ongoing projects for the restoration of the liberated territories.
The celebration continued with a concert program. Of particular interest was the performance by Uzbekistan’s People’s Artist Jenisbek Piyazov, who performed pieces in Azerbaijani and Uzbek.
His performance was warmly received by the audience, concluding the event in an atmosphere of friendship and cultural exchange.
