Central Securities Depository Discusses Cooperation with Bank of Georgia and BNY

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 25 November 2025, JSC “Central Securities Depository” held a working meeting with representatives of Bank of Georgia and Bank of New York Mellon to discuss the development of cooperation and review current operational processes.

During the meeting, the Central Securities Depository briefed participants on key changes in Uzbekistan’s capital market regulations, including the new Rules for Accounting of Depository Operations, which define the procedures for depository services, available account formats, and conditions for foreign nominee account holders.

The parties discussed ongoing collaboration, operational infrastructure, and opportunities for expanding operations in the government securities market. Participants confirmed mutual interest in further strengthening cooperation and deepening the integration of Uzbekistan’s capital market infrastructure with international financial institutions.

Notably, Bank of Georgia became the first participant in the special legal regime “Regulatory Sandbox” in the capital market sector, opening an account as a foreign nominee holder in the Central Securities Depository.
