Central Bank Fines 18 Banks for Website Compliance Violations
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Central Bank of Uzbekistan conducted a review of the official websites of commercial banks during September and October 2025 to assess their compliance with legal requirements on consumer information disclosure and the right of clients to receive complete and accurate financial information.
The monitoring revealed a number of deficiencies and violations.
In particular, several banks were found to be in breach of the Law “On the State Language of the Republic of Uzbekistan,” as their websites lacked content in the Uzbek language.
Additionally, some banks failed to publish information on the gradual release of collateral in proportion to loan repayment — a requirement under disclosure regulations.
Violations were identified on the websites of the following banks:
Agrobank, Anor Bank, Hayot Bank, Universal Bank, Garant Bank, Asakabank, Turonbank, Infinbank, Mikrokreditbank, Trastbank, Madad Invest Bank, Soderot Bank, Orient Finans Bank, Ipoteka-bank, Tenge Bank, Ziraat Bank Uzbekistan, AVO Bank, and Open Bank.
As a result, the Central Bank imposed fines of 102 million soums on each institution in accordance with applicable regulations. The banks were also issued directives to correct the violations and bring their online information into full compliance with the law.
The Central Bank emphasized that all commercial banks must:
Strictly adhere to the Law “On the State Language of the Republic of Uzbekistan” in consumer information disclosure;
Ensure completeness, accuracy, and relevance of all data published on their official websites;
Guarantee that consumers’ rights to clear and comprehensive information are respected when publishing content on official resources.
