Central Asian Countries Discuss Transport Cooperation Through 2035

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Third Meeting of Transport Ministers of Central Asian states was held in Tashkent.

Participants emphasized that, against the backdrop of global geopolitical instability, disruptions in trade and transport-logistics chains, and growing food security challenges, the importance of regional cooperation has become particularly significant.

It was noted that under these circumstances, it is crucial to intensify joint efforts to develop new mechanisms of collaboration and advance common and mutually beneficial objectives.

During the meeting, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Transport, Ilkhom Makhkamov, provided a detailed presentation on the draft document “CATRANS-2035,” which outlines the strategic directions of transport cooperation among Central Asian states through 2035.

Participants expressed support for efforts to develop key transport corridors capable of strengthening the region’s position as a reliable partner in global logistics chains.

At the conclusion of the Third Meeting of Transport Ministers of Central Asian states, the Tashkent Communiqué was signed, formalizing the agreements reached and outlining further plans for cooperation.
