Central Asian Countries Agree on Mutual Recognition of Higher Education Diplomas

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Central Asian countries have reached an agreement on the mutual recognition of higher education qualifications.

The announcement followed Kazakhstan’s government approval of the draft agreement.

Under the agreement, participating countries will recognize diplomas issued by universities accredited in accordance with each country’s national legislation. Recognition will be granted if the diploma’s details meet the general requirements of the higher education system.

Refusal of recognition is permitted only when significant discrepancies exist in educational standards or program content.

The agreement aims to enhance mobility for students and professionals and to expand educational cooperation across the region.
