Central Asia–Azerbaijan Friendship Forum Held in Ferghana

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — From 29 to 31 March, Ferghana hosted the Central Asia–Azerbaijan Friendship Forum.

The event gathered scholars and experts, parliamentary representatives, ministers and agency heads, public figures, and leaders of non-governmental organizations from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Azerbaijan.

Speaking at the forum, Gulnora Marufova, member of the Senate Committee of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan on Science, Education, and Healthcare, emphasized the forum’s role in fostering mutual understanding among nations and expanding mutually beneficial cooperation.

The program included a wreath-laying ceremony at the “Friendship Stele” in the Uzbekistan District of Ferghana Region. Participants also attended a scientific-practical conference at Ferghana State University, focused on the theme: “Friendship Stele — Symbol of Friendship, Good Neighborliness, Trust, and Strategic Partnership between Brotherly Nations.”

Key discussions addressed strengthening scientific collaboration, building mutual trust, and deepening strategic partnerships. Participants highlighted the forum’s significance as an effective platform for developing new approaches to regional cooperation and advancing multilateral collaboration to a higher level.
