Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan has taken a significant step toward advancing digital technologies and strengthening information security with the opening of two new educational institutions under the Scientific, Technical and Marketing Research Center UNICON.UZ: the “Center for Training in New Digital Technologies” and the “School of Cryptology.” The opening ceremony was attended by Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov.

These initiatives are part of the implementation of the Presidential Decree of October 5, 2020, “On the Approval of the Digital Uzbekistan – 2030 Strategy”, and play a vital role in accelerating the country’s digital transformation, training highly qualified IT specialists, and enhancing scientific capacity in the field of information security.

The Center for Training in New Digital Technologies will specialize in education across a range of fields including modern digital solutions, artificial intelligence (AI), cloud technologies and DevOps, software development, the Internet of Things (IoT), big data and data science, digital marketing, and e-commerce. The center will implement advanced curricula, international best practices, and hands-on training. Instruction will be provided by highly qualified trainers and mentors, targeting students, professionals, and young developers.

The School of Cryptology will focus on disciplines such as cryptology, cryptography, cryptanalysis, information security, and cybersecurity. The school will place strong emphasis on research activities in these areas, as well as raising public awareness about cryptology and improving the qualifications of industry professionals.

These educational initiatives are part of Uzbekistan’s broader reform agenda to develop the digital economy, attract youth to the IT and cybersecurity sectors, and enhance the professional development of national personnel.
