CCI and German CCI Association sign a cooperation agreement
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) of Uzbekistan and the Association of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Germany signed a cooperation agreement.
The document was signed on 14 January within the framework of the Uzbek-German business forum in Berlin.
The agreement envisages adoption of joint measures to enhance cooperation between the Uzbek and German companies, as well as the exchange of experience in the development of the chambers of commerce and industry.
The Association of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Germany is the largest union of entrepreneurs and unites 80 territorial chambers of commerce and industry in Germany, as well as 130 representative offices in 90 countries of the world.
At the end of 2018, the trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Germany made up US$772 million, showing an increase of 24.5% compared with 2017. At the same time, exports from Uzbekistan to the Federal Republic of Germany, the bulk of which is accounted for services and food products, increased by 44.6%, reaching US$46.9 million. Imports from Germany amounted to US$725 million, 76% of which comes from the purchase of equipment.
