Case Opened Against “Termiztransportxizmat” for Overcharging Passengers

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Territorial Office of the Committee for Competition Development in Surkhandarya Region, together with the Transport Control Inspectorate, conducted an inspection of LLC “Termiztransportxizmat” following a citizen’s complaint.

The investigation found that in Termez city buses, passengers were illegally charged an additional 1,000 soums above the approved fare. Instead of the official 2,000 soums fare, the company was collecting 3,000 soums per passenger.

According to calculations, from 1 to 19 May 2025, LLC “Termiztransportxizmat” served over 364,560 passengers, collecting a total of 364.56 million soums in unlawful overpayments.

Following the review of the case, the Special Commission of the territorial office initiated proceedings against the company and ordered a recalculation and refund of the excess amounts collected.
