Car Sales in Uzbekistan Surge 25% in July — Highest in 18 Months
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s automotive market continues to show strong growth across all segments, reaching its highest levels since January 2024, according to the Center for Economic Research and Reforms (CERR).
In July 2025, total vehicle sales reached 116,800 units — a 27% increase compared to June and the highest monthly figure since the beginning of last year (144,500 units in January 2024). This growth reflects a rebound in market activity following a seasonal slowdown.
Passenger car sales saw a notable acceleration, with nearly 100,000 units sold — up 25% from June. The sharpest increases were recorded in Tashkent region (51%), Namangan (49%), and Khorezm (40%). By contrast, in June, passenger car sales rose by only 3%, highlighting July’s significant growth momentum.
The primary market for new passenger cars was particularly active. Sales jumped 38.2% compared to June, reaching 38,400 units. Domestic production dominated, with 32,900 units sold — a 38.6% rise from the previous month. Imported new passenger cars also grew, with 5,400 units sold — up 35.8% month-on-month.
The secondary passenger car market remained relatively stable but experienced a clear uptick in July. Sales reached 61,500 units, an 18% increase from June, when sales had dipped slightly below May’s level. This surge signals a broader recovery in demand for used vehicles.
The electric vehicle (EV) segment rebounded strongly after a slight decline in June (down 1.7% from May). In July, EV sales hit a record 6,500 units — up 28.2% from the previous month.
Overall, Uzbekistan’s car market shows a steady upward trajectory, reflecting growing consumer activity and rising demand across regions and segments.
