Cannavaro Set to Earn Around €4 Million Per Year with Uzbekistan National Team — Media

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The total remuneration for 52-year-old Italian coach Fabio Cannavaro for his work with the Uzbekistan national football team is expected to amount to around €4 million per year, including salaries for members of his coaching staff.

According to Sport-Express, Cannavaro initially hoped to receive offers from clubs or national teams in Italy or other European countries, which explains the delay in his decision to move to Central Asia. Kazakhstan also expressed interest in the 2006 World Cup champion and Ballon d’Or winner.

Ultimately, the coach accepted the terms offered by Uzbekistan and signed a one-year contract. If he successfully leads the national team to the 2026 World Cup, Cannavaro will have the option to extend his agreement or consider returning to Europe.

It is expected that his coaching staff will include 44-year-old Paolo Cannavaro, Fabio’s younger brother, who previously worked at the Italian Serie C club Pro Vercelli, leaving the team in November 2024.
