Cabinet of Ministers Approves Procedure for Auditing Official Statistics Methodology

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — By Resolution No. 627 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated 6 October 2025, the “Procedure for Conducting Audits of Official Statistics Methodology by Producers of Statistical Data” has been approved.

According to the document, audits of statistical methodology will be carried out by the National Statistical Committee of Uzbekistan.

The audits are to be organized based on an annual schedule approved in coordination with statistical data producers and conducted at least once every five years.

The main objectives of the audit are to assess the compliance of the applied methodology with international standards, verify that the statistical information being developed and published aligns with the adopted methodology, and prepare proposals and recommendations to address identified shortcomings and improve the process of statistical data preparation.

The National Statistical Committee will annually, by December 1, approve the audit schedule for the following year.
