BYD Registers Three New Car Designs in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — BYD has registered three new industrial car designs in Uzbekistan, the Department of Intellectual Property at the Ministry of Justice reported.

These registrations cover artistic and design solutions protecting the exterior and aesthetic elements of the vehicles, including a mid-size crossover, a full-size crossover, and a van.

Published renders indicate that the mid-size crossover resembles the BYD Seal 06 GT, the van is similar to the BYD e-Vali, and the full-size crossover aligns with the premium Denza N9 sub-brand. The electric crossover Seal 06 GT was first showcased at the Chengdu Auto Show in October 2024. It is available in single- and dual-motor versions, with a maximum range of up to 605 km on a single charge.

Features include an integrated radar system, a 15.6-inch multimedia screen, wireless charging, and the DiLink 100 smart management system with a voice assistant.

In February 2022, BYD and Uzavtosanoat signed a Memorandum of Understanding, marking the first step toward developing electric vehicle production in Uzbekistan.

By August 2022, UzAuto and BYD agreed to establish a full-cycle production facility, and in autumn 2023, the joint venture BYD Uzbekistan Factory was created, with an initial planned capacity of 50,000 cars per year and the potential to expand to 300,000 units.

Construction of the plant began in January 2024, and within five months, the first electric vehicles rolled off the assembly line. In 2024, the plant produced over 17,000 vehicles, capturing 4.3% of the local market, and in the first nine months of 2025, 13,700 cars were manufactured. In the near future, the factory plans to launch production of the E2 and Seagull models.
