Business Ombudsman Urges Regulatory Authorities to Respect Entrepreneurs’ Rights During Fire Safety Inspections
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Recently, large commercial and entertainment facilities have been undergoing preventive inspections aimed at ensuring fire safety. In some cases, these inspections have led to the temporary suspension of operations due to identified violations.
The Business Ombudsman has called on regulatory authorities to strictly respect the rights of entrepreneurs and to apply restrictive measures solely within the framework of existing legislation. He emphasized that such decisions should be based on an objective assessment of the actual risk to life and health and must be justified and proportionate to the identified hazards.
At the same time, entrepreneurs are advised to rigorously comply with fire safety requirements at their facilities and promptly address any shortcomings identified during inspections.
It was also noted that business representatives can familiarize themselves in advance with their obligations and the criteria for inspections using checklists available on the Govcontrol.uz portal. This approach allows companies, unlike formal inspections, to independently identify and correct violations without facing sanctions.
