Business forum to promote a positive business image of Uzbekistan among the Malaysian business community

 

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Malaysia, together with the Consumption Union, held a business forum in Kuala Lumpur on 9 August, aimed at presenting the investment and export potential of Uzbekistan and its business image, attracting Malaysian companies to cooperation, Dunyo news agency reported.

The Consumption Union, founded in 2010, is engaged in the development of special electronic platforms for the development of e-commerce in the countries of Southeast Asia. The online platform developed by the company has over 10 million subscribers. The company also develops online banking software.

The business forum was attended by representatives of about 200 Malaysian government agencies, industrial and trading companies, including the leadership of the Ministry of International Trade and Industry of Malaysia (Ministry of International Trade and Industry - MITI), Corporation for the Development of Foreign Trade (Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation - MATRADE), the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) and the Department of Standards of Malaysia (DSM).

Ten Yi Lim, Director of Consumption Union, in his speech highly appreciated the policy of the President of Uzbekistan to support entrepreneurship, create wide opportunities for small and private businesses, new jobs, strengthen export potential, and further improve the welfare of the Uzbek people.

He expressed interest in further strengthening cooperation with Uzbekistan, in particular by introducing an electronic trading platform for the company, which will open up the opportunity for domestic exporters to sell their products to end consumers in Southeast Asian countries.

As a result of the event, agreements were reached to organize a three-day webinar for interested Uzbek companies in the field of e-commerce development with the involvement of relevant specialists.

It is also planned to organize a visit of a representative group of Malaysian business circles to Uzbekistan to hold a joint business forum, meetings with the leadership of the relevant ministries and departments of the republic, as well as in the B2B format to discuss prospects for the development of trade, economic and investment cooperation between the business communities of the two countries as it stabilizes. epidemiological situation.
