Business Forum “Russia Smart Innovation” takes place in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Tashkent Business Forum "Russia Smart Innovation" started on 25 April 2019.

The event was held in the format of the Business Forum "Russia Smart Innovation" and is included in the program of the Second International Industrial Exhibition "EXPO-RUSSIA UZBEKISTAN 2019".

The Business Forum program is scheduled for 25-26 April to hold thematic roundtables on education, medicine, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, construction, the oil and gas sector, specialized panel sessions on the digital economy, interregional cooperation, information security, digital government, smart technology, digital solutions in transport, during which an exchange of views will be held on Uzbekistan’s modernization programs for the economy and e can be used to offer innovative products and solutions to the Russian business. To organize the negotiations of participants, the Russian Export Center will hold specialized exchanges of contacts in B2B format.

“Last year, the commodity turnover of Russia and Uzbekistan amounted to more than 4 billion dollars, showing an increase of 20%, the volume of non-oil exports - 3.3 billion dollars (+26.5%), imports - 1 billion dollars (+3.6% ). We are interested in the development of exports associated with high technologies and innovative solutions, the current business mission will be an important step in this direction,” the Director General of the Russian Export Center Andrei Slepnev said.

An agreement was signed on the margins of the Forum between the Russian Export Center and the Export Promotion Agency under the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the area of comprehensive support for Russian-Uzbek foreign economic projects. The document was signed by the Head of the REC Andrei Slepnev and the Director of the Agency Olimjon Kayumov.

The agreement envisages cooperation in the field of expanding mutually beneficial trade-economic and scientific-technical cooperation. We are talking about joint exhibitions, fairs, business missions and other business events. There will also be a wide exchange of economic, legal, scientific and technical information on all areas of cooperation for the promotion of Russian-Uzbek projects.

In addition, at the opening of the Forum, it was announced that the REC office in Tashkent jointly with the Trade Representation Office of Russia in Uzbekistan would organize the Office for the Support of Domestic Export Products in the framework of the development of the Unified Export Promotion System abroad.
