Business Development Bank Reports 238.6% Profit Increase in First Nine Months of 2025
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Business Development Bank has demonstrated a significant increase in profit, although operational efficiency challenges remain.
For the first nine months of 2025, the bank’s net profit reached 386.9 billion soums, compared to a loss of 279.1 billion soums in the same period of 2024, reflecting growth of over 238%.
At the same time, the bank’s balance sheet still shows an uncovered loss of 1.6 trillion soums, stemming from a record loss of 2.2 trillion soums in 2024.
The bank’s loan portfolio grew to 23.7 trillion soums by the end of September (+5.7% year-on-year), with asset quality improving: the share of non-performing loans (NPLs) fell from 10.8% to 5.9%.
Total assets increased to 36.2 trillion soums (+8.4%), capital rose to 5.2 trillion soums (+27.3%), total income reached 7.1 trillion soums (+172.6%), and provisions for potential loan losses declined by 3.8%, to 823.6 billion soums.
