Business circles of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan signed contracts for $ 250 million

Within the National Exhibition of Turkmenistan and the business forum held in Tashkent, business circles of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan signed agreements for US$250 million, the press service of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan said.
The parties reached promising agreements on expanding cooperation in the oil and gas, transport, communications, agriculture and tourism, industrial production and textile industries.
In 2017, the trade turnover between the two countries made up US$177.3 million. At the talks with the participation of the presidents, the parties agreed to increase this figure to US$500 million by 2020. In the first quarter 2018, trade turnover increased by 55%.
There are 11 enterprises with the participation of Turkmen capital in Uzbekistan, mainly in such areas as trade and services, textile industry and furniture production.
