Builders started drilling the tunnel of the second stage of Tashkent metro
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) - These days, work has begun on drilling a new tunnel with a length of almost 1.5 kilometers as part of a project to extend the Yunusabad branch of the Tashkent Metro.
It should be noted that the tunneling process is carried out with the help of Germanic technology "HERRENKNECHT". The device can pave the tunnel and at the same time install a concrete frame reinforced with tubing. The device covers a distance of up to 12 meters a day.
The total length of the new line of the metro is 2.93 kilometers. Construction and installation work is carried out in an open and closed way. More than 180 qualified engineers and specialists work around the clock, about 40 types of modern special equipment and other mechanisms are involved. Currently, work is underway to build a tunnel between the Yunusabad and Turkiston stations under construction, work is underway to lay a tunnel on the spans between the stations, to build a turnaround exit and a dead-end line at Turkiston station.
This project, developed by the specialists of Toshkent Metroproekt LLC, is planned to be completed by the end of 2019. The total cost of the project is 124.8 million US dollars.
