British Council holds training for experts of Uzbek universities

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- British Council in cooperation with the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education of Uzbekistan, as well as Uzbek State University of World Languages are holding an intensive programme on modern methods of assessing of language skills for specialists and experts from 26 February to 4 March 2014.

The programme will help for further developing skills of cadres in supporting wide-scale reforms in teaching English language.

One of leading British specialists in teaching English and assessment of knowledge Richard West is participating in the programme.

The programme is aimed at discussing and studying main principles of assessment and familiarizing with objective and subjective methods of assessments, developing skills on modern methods of assessment of speaking, writing, listening and reading skills. The participants will develop materials for regular assessment of educational programmes.

About 20 experts of Uzbek universities, which train future English language teachers, projects on reforming curriculum of higher and secondary special establishments and National Testing Center are participating in the programme.

After the end of the programme, the trainers will hold seminars and provide consulting support to educational institutions of Uzbekistan.
