Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- British American Tobacco Uzbekistan (Investments) Limited has increased its stake in Samarkand-based Samfruit to 35.10% of the company’s authorized capital. This is reported by the CorpInfo Telegram channel.
On 21 September, the company acquired an additional 350 thousand shares of JSC (0.98%). As a result, the company became the owner of 12,414,688 shares of JSC, with a total par value of 1.24 billion soums.
According to the EDRPO data, Samfruit JSC has only 2 shareholders. The majority shareholder of the JSC is the Swiss company “New Product International Ltd” (according to other sources, the Company is registered in the Bahamas).
As a reminder, in March 2021, an additional issue of 5,976,960 shares of JSC for 597.69 million soums at par value, subject to placement to British American Tobacco Uzbekistan (Investments) Limited for 4.48 million dollars was registered. The company owned a 32% stake in the authorized capital of Samfruit JSC (11 352 688 shares).
