Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 5 December 2019, a video conference was held with representatives of the Ministry of Preschool Education, the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education of Uzbekistan and the Russian State Pedagogical University named after A.I. Herzen. The parties discussed the conditions for opening a university branch in Tashkent.

Opening of a branch of the Russian State Pedagogical University named after A.I. Herzen is scheduled for 2020. He will be engaged in the training of teaching staff for Uzbekistan, as well as advanced training and retraining of educational personnel. The participants of the video conference considered the possibility of organizing training in the following areas:

-rehabilitation and correctional pedagogy for the training of specialists in working with children with special needs;

-preschool education;

-psychology.

"Russian State Pedagogical University named after A.I. Herzen is one of the leading pedagogical universities in Russia with effective programs and teaching methods. I would like to note our positive experience of cooperation: the specialists of the Nukus kindergarten with the Imkon rehabilitation center were trained at Herzen University. We plan to involve faculty and researchers from St. Petersburg in the work of the Tashkent branch,” Agrippina Shin, Minister of Preschool Education, said.

During the next meetings, the parties plan to create a complete list of faculties, as well as to begin developing bachelor and master programs.
