Boxing Night in Tashkent: Nine Wins and One Draw
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 14 November, Tashkent hosted a professional boxing night supported by Lift Promotions and Matchroom Boxing, featuring fighters from Uzbekistan, Russia, Nigeria, Tanzania, and Turkmenistan.
The main event in the welterweight division showcased Uzbekistan’s Shahram Giyosov (18-0-0), who defeated Russia’s Mark Urvanov (25-5-2) via technical knockout in the 4th round.
In the heavyweight category, Bahodir Jalolov (17-0-0) knocked out Solomon Adebayo (Nigeria, 14-1-0) in the 4th round, while Lazizbek Mullojonov (7-0-0) claimed the WBC CISBB title after his opponent, Monyasahu Muritador (Nigeria, 6-4-2), retired in the 3rd round.
Shokhzahon Abdullaev (6-0-0) scored a first-round knockout over Gutram Ngoya (Tanzania, 13-3-0), and Ozodbek Aliev (4-0-0) defeated Alexander Zubkov (Russia, 11-13-0) via second-round knockout.
The super-middleweight bouts delivered additional excitement: Nurislom Ismoilov (8-0-0) knocked out Joseph Maigvisya (Tanzania, 15-6-0) in the 4th round, while the fight between Alohon Abdullaev (4-0-2) and Sukhrob Khayumov (4-0-2) ended in a draw.
In the super-welterweight division, Russia’s Rajab Butaev (16-1-0) defeated Artyom Pugach (Russia, 3-13-4) on points. In the welterweight category, Bakhtiyor Ilyosov (1-5-0) knocked out Khursand Imankuliev (Turkmenistan, 5-0-0) in the 2nd round, and Sherzod Khabibov (4-1-0) won on points against Asadbek Bekmirzaev (2-1-0).
Uzbek boxers secured nine victories, one bout ended in a draw, and Russian athletes claimed two wins.
The event highlighted the high level of professional boxing in the region and drew attention to Uzbekistan’s promising athletes.
