Book “New Uzbekistan: The Path of Shavkat Mirziyoyev” Presented in the U.S. Congress
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 17 September, a presentation of the book “New Uzbekistan: The Path of Shavkat Mirziyoyev” was held in the U.S. Congress in Washington, D.C.
The event was attended by First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Sodiq Safoyev, more than 70 representatives of the U.S. Congress and Administration, the State Department, leading federal agencies, international companies, business associations, as well as members of the diplomatic and expert communities.
Participants discussed the reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan in the areas of public administration, human rights, the economy, education, gender equality, and foreign policy. U.S. congressmen praised the book and highlighted President Shavkat Mirziyoyev as a modern leader who is consistently pursuing a course of democratic transformation.
Particular attention was paid to strengthening Uzbek-American cooperation, including in the fields of education and youth policy. Since 2017, thousands of students and specialists from Uzbekistan have had the opportunity to study and undergo professional training in the United States.
It was emphasized that Uzbekistan’s foreign policy is based on the principles of openness, dialogue, and pragmatism. The country’s achievements in education, healthcare, social protection, gender policy, and the empowerment of women were also noted during the event.
Following the presentation, the parties agreed to organize a series of roundtables and analytical discussions dedicated to the content of the book and to exploring future prospects for cooperation between Uzbekistan and the United States.
