Book Holiday to take place in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 22-23 May 2014, Book Holiday will be held in Karakalpakstan and all regions of Uzbekistan, as well as Park of Culture and Recruitment named after Gafur Gulyam in Tashkent. The motto of the event is “Attention to literature – attention to spirituality, future”, the press service of the Uzbek Agency for Print and Information said.

The main goal of the holiday is to improve spirituality and culture of reading among population through development of Uzbek language and literature, promote family book reading, etc.

According to UzAPI, over 100 publishing and polygraph houses of Uzbekistan will participate in the Book Holiday.

It is also planned to present over 250 titles of new books, which were published in recent years. It is planned to hold meetings with famous and young writers, publishers and book designers.

Intellectual games directed to revealing the best reader and the best family of readers, quizzes on Uzbek and world literature will be held as well.
