Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - An April issue of the Berliner Telegraph magazine published an article on “Kindness and Support” on the nationwide movement in Uzbekistan, Dunyo news agency reported.

According to the estimates of German journalist I. Berenhardt, the effective measures taken by the leadership of Uzbekistan allow the country to curb the widespread spread of coronavirus. “The latest news from the republic clearly shows how low the incidence rate is compared with other countries of the world,” the article says.

The article says that in the context of the global spread of the coronavirus, Uzbekistan, like many other countries of the world, faces great challenges for its economy and social sphere. Citizens of the republic who passed two-week mandatory quarantine were returned to the country from abroad. In total, according to reports, about 100 thousand people are in quarantine in Uzbekistan, which is a huge burden for the country's healthcare system and social protection.

Moreover, in these difficult crisis conditions, the republic’s leadership continues to pay special attention to supporting socially vulnerable segments of the population and ensuring the full functioning of industrial enterprises, the construction industry and infrastructure. In these difficult times, Uzbekistan seeks to preserve priceless human lives and necessary jobs.

Particular attention in the article is given to the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, who proposed the creation of a nationwide movement, “Kindness and Support”.
