Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 23–24 February 2026, an official visit of the government delegation of the Republic of Belarus, led by Prime Minister Alexander Turchin, took place in Tashkent.

As part of the visit, a delegation of Belarusian business representatives, headed by the Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mikhail Myatlikov, reviewed Uzbekistan’s production potential in the furniture and woodworking industries. The guests were shown modern production facilities, technological capabilities of enterprises, the diversity of products, and the sector’s export opportunities.

The furniture industry holds a significant place in Uzbekistan’s economy: over 7,500 enterprises operate in the sector, 57% of which are small businesses. In 2025, furniture production reached 6.7 trillion soums, marking an 8.2% increase compared to 2024.

The parties also examined quality control systems, design solutions, and raw material logistics. During negotiations, they discussed prospects for establishing joint production facilities and expanding exports to international markets.
