Belarusian Companies Sign US$25 Million in Contracts to Supply Products to Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Belarusian companies have already signed contracts worth US$25 million to supply products to Uzbekistan, said Mikhail Myatlikov, Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, who is part of the Belarusian government delegation visiting Uzbekistan, BELTA reports.

Belarusian Prime Minister Alexander Turchin is leading the delegation on an official visit to Uzbekistan.

In Samarkand, he held an informal meeting with Uzbek Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov to discuss key issues on the bilateral agenda.

During the visit, the head of the Belarusian government toured the Samarkand Automobile Plant (SamAuto) and visited the showroom of SAG Group of Companies (Sam Antep Gilam).

Upon arrival in Tashkent, Turchin was welcomed at the recently inaugurated “Humo” International Airport, becoming the first foreign prime minister to set foot at the new capital airport.

Tashkent’s hokim, Shavkat Umurzakov, received the heads of government at the airport. The two-day visit includes the fourth meeting of the Uzbek-Belarusian Business Council, a business forum, negotiations with the Uzbek prime minister, and visits to several industrial enterprises.

In Tashkent’s business center, the colors of the Belarusian flag were displayed in honor of the friendship between the two nations.

According to Myatlikov, the delegation includes 42 Belarusian enterprises representing sectors such as engineering, woodworking, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and food products. He noted a strong interest in Belarusian products among Uzbek partners.

At the Uzbek-Belarusian Business Council meeting, discussions will focus on cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, while the business forum will host B2B negotiations with over 250 Uzbek companies.

Already, ten commercial contracts totaling US$25 million have been signed, with additional agreements expected during the visit.

One promising area of cooperation is joint furniture production in Uzbekistan. Belarusian raw materials, including OSB boards and plywood, are actively used in construction, which is growing at over 15% annually in the country.

Additionally, Alexander Turchin reviewed a presentation of the production capacities of the Servolux Group of Companies.

Uzbekistan is implementing an investment project to establish an agro-industrial complex for poultry meat production and compound feed.

The project involves approximately US$170 million in investment, with planned capacities covering the raising, slaughter, and deep processing of broiler chickens.
