Belarusian Agricultural Exports to Uzbekistan Rise 2.3 Times in Q1 2026

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In the first quarter of 2026, exports of Belarusian agricultural products to Uzbekistan via the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUTB) increased 2.3 times compared with the same period in 2025.

According to Konstantin Chapkovsky, leading specialist at BUTB’s foreign economic activities department, Belarusian participants sold $10.8 million worth of agri-products in Uzbekistan from January to March. The majority of exports—87%—consisted of whole and skimmed milk, while butter and beef accounted for the remaining 13%.

During the UzFood 2026 international food exhibition in Tashkent, Belarusian companies presented their products, held seminars on exchange trading, and conducted individual meetings with Central Asian trading organizations interested in importing Belarusian dairy, meat products, sugar, and feed additives. Accreditation of these companies on BUTB is expected to increase trade volumes and expand the range of Belarusian goods exported to the region.

From January to March, residents of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan purchased $67.8 million worth of goods on the exchange platform, doubling the figure from the same period in 2025. Agricultural products accounted for 51% of Belarusian exports to Central Asia via the exchange.

Additionally, during the visit, BUTB representatives met with Shukhrat Abdurakhmanov, head of Strategic Planning, Information Analysis, and International Cooperation at Uzbekistan’s Agency for Light Industry Development. The parties agreed to scale up exchange trading for Uzbek textile raw materials in Belarus, aiming to attract cotton yarn and polyester thread producers to the platform.

Since early 2026, 15 new Uzbek companies have registered on BUTB, bringing the total number of accredited Uzbek participants to 267.
