Beeline, SES, and UzSAT Explore Launch of Satellite Connectivity in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In Brussels, Unitel LLC (Beeline Uzbekistan), New Skies Satellites B.V. (SES), and UzSAT signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore potential cooperation in providing satellite connectivity across Uzbekistan, Beeline Uzbekistan said in a post on LinkedIn.
Beeline Uzbekistan emphasized its role as a strategic partner in the country’s digital transformation, reaffirming its long-term commitment to improving communications, digital inclusion, and quality of life for its customers.
The company highlighted that the MoU opens the potential for strategic cooperation between Uzbekistan and the European Union, fostering innovation, modernization, and sustainable development.
Earlier, on 21 October 2025, the President of Uzbekistan signed a decree outlining measures to implement satellite communication technologies to expand coverage in remote areas of the country.
The decree envisages the development of medium- and low-orbit satellite systems, the creation of a regulatory framework for their use, and the licensing of satellite internet services.
Starting from 1 January 2026, satellite operators will benefit from five-year tax and customs incentives: equipment, software, and components will be exempt from customs duties, while services provided via satellite networks will be exempt from corporate income tax and VAT.
