Bank Employee Confesses to Murder of Client in Ferghana
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In Ferghana region, a bank employee has confessed to murdering a client following a conflict over a car loan, local outlet Kun.uz reported.
The suspect is in custody, while authorities, with assistance from local residents and rescue teams, continue searching for the victim’s body in the canal of the Great Ferghana Canal.
According to the investigation, on March 31 a resident of the Uzbekistan district visited a bank branch in Kokand to complete documentation for purchasing a car and subsequently went missing. Relatives discovered that he had left the building with a bank credit officer, who later returned to work alone.
During a probe conducted by the prosecutor’s office, the bank employee admitted to the crime. He stated that a dispute arose between him and the client, after which they drove to the Tarakkiyot neighborhood in a Tracker vehicle. During the altercation inside the car, the suspect inflicted fatal stab wounds on the victim.
After the incident, he returned to his workplace and remained there until evening, leaving the body in the car. Later, he transported the victim to a section of the Great Ferghana Canal in the Tulash neighborhood and disposed of the body in the water.
A criminal case has been opened under Part 1 of Article 97 of the Criminal Code, which covers intentional murder. Search operations are ongoing.
