Bakhtiyor Khaydarov Appointed Head of Uzbekistan’s New Agency for Industrial Cooperation and Public Procurement

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed a decree appointing Bakhtiyor Khaydarov as Director of the newly established Agency for Industrial Cooperation and Public Procurement.

Prior to this appointment, Bakhtiyor Khaydarov served as First Deputy Hokim of Tashkent, overseeing financial and economic affairs and poverty reduction.

The Agency was established in accordance with the presidential decree “On Priority Measures to Develop Domestic Production and Industrial Cooperation Based on a New System.”

The creation of the Agency is part of a large-scale program aimed at the systemic development of domestic production and industrial cooperation. The new body assumes the functions of the Ministry of Economy and Finance in the field of public procurement and is tasked with coordinating the development and implementation of programs to expand the production of high-tech and competitive goods.

The Agency will provide methodological and practical support to enterprises and regions, promote the formation of value-added chains, and facilitate the introduction of innovative technologies in order to integrate Uzbek companies into global production and trade networks.

Particular emphasis will be placed on the development of programs for key driver industries, including pharmaceuticals, electrical engineering, electronics, robotics, automotive manufacturing, construction materials, gas and petrochemicals, light industry and the food sector, as well as other core industries with high investment potential.

These programs will be developed with due regard to sectoral needs, regional specificities and international experience, coordinated with the Agency, and approved by its Governing Council.
