Azizbek Urunov Discusses Uzbekistan’s WTO Accession Progress with Director-General of the Organization

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s Presidential Representative for World Trade Organization (WTO) matters and chief negotiator, Azizbek Urunov, held a meeting with WTO Director-General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.

The WTO head reported the meeting on her social media account X, stating: “I discussed the status and progress of Uzbekistan’s accession to the WTO with His Excellency Azizbek Urunov. It is encouraging to see the progress made and the determination to continue work on the substantive aspects of the accession process.”

During the discussion, both parties reviewed the current stage of the negotiation process, emphasizing the importance of maintaining systematic efforts to successfully complete Uzbekistan’s accession to the World Trade Organization.
