Aziz Abdukhakimov meets with the Deputy Director-General of UNESCO
During the last meeting, the sides exchanged views on the current state and prospects for deepening relations between Uzbekistan and the Organization. The mutual interest in the consistent realization of the existing potential of cooperation, based on the rich historical and cultural heritage of the Uzbek people and significant opportunities of such a global and authoritative international structure as UNESCO, was underlined.
Ramirez welcomed the latest measures taken by Uzbekistan in the field of protection of historical and cultural heritage. He proposed broadening the areas of interaction between the parties and providing comprehensive support in the implementation of new projects. There is an interest in the joint development and adoption of the "Country Program" for cooperation with UNESCO, including a number of specific joint activities aimed at achieving practical results in cooperation.
In addition, the issues of training and retraining of national specialists, including in the headquarters of UNESCO, were considered.
