Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan Strengthen Security Cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 10 December, a meeting took place in Baku between Ramil Usubov, Secretary of the Security Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and Viktor Makhmudov, Secretary of the Security Council under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, who was on an official visit to Azerbaijan.
The meeting addressed pressing issues of regional security and the strengthening of strategic partnership between the two countries.
The parties emphasized that, amid rising international conflicts, military-political challenges, and threats, joint efforts by both countries acquire special significance.
In particular, the discussion highlighted the importance of developing military-technical cooperation and exchanging experience between the armed forces, creating new opportunities to maintain stability and security in the South Caucasus and Central Asia.
The Secretaries of the Security Councils of both states confirmed their readiness to further expand cooperation and implement joint initiatives in defense, military training, and the protection of critical infrastructure.
Following the talks, it was stressed that the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan will continue to develop in line with the political will of the leaders of both countries—President Ilham Aliyev and President Shavkat Mirziyoyev—strengthening trust and stability in the region.
