Average Salary in Uzbekistan Increases by 19.2% for January–September 2025

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In the Republic of Uzbekistan, the average monthly salary for January–September 2025 reached 6,166.9 thousand soms, representing a 19.2% increase compared to the same period last year, according to the National Statistics Committee.

By region, Tashkent remains the leader in income levels, with an average of 10,379.6 thousand soms, up 18.7% year-on-year. Significant growth was also recorded in Samarkand Region at 4,853.3 thousand soms (+24.8%), Namangan Region at 4,543.8 thousand soms (+20.9%), Syrdarya Region at 4,930.8 thousand soms (+20.7%), Ferghana Region at 4,574.5 thousand soms (+19.8%), and Jizzakh Region at 4,589.0 thousand soms (+19.2%).

Lower growth rates were observed in Andijan Region (4,996.5 thousand soms, +12%), Navoi Region (7,612.3 thousand soms, +15.1%), and Surkhandarya Region (4,347.2 thousand soms, +18.4%).

By sector, the highest increase in average monthly salary was in arts, entertainment, and recreation, reaching 5,114.7 thousand soms (+22.8%). Substantial growth was also noted in education, with an average of 4,188.5 thousand soms (+19.8%), in transportation and storage at 9,382.1 thousand soms (+16.7%), information and communications at 14,985.8 thousand soms (+16.6%), industry at 7,301.0 thousand soms (+16.3%), construction at 6,342.6 thousand soms (+9.2%), accommodation and food services at 5,122.8 thousand soms (+10.1%), trade at 6,875.6 thousand soms (+12.1%), healthcare and social services at 3,765.4 thousand soms (+14.6%), and in banking, insurance, leasing, and finance at 16,828.9 thousand soms (+15.6%).

Analysis of trends over the past five years shows that salaries in banking and finance have risen by 9,092 thousand soms, in information and communications by 9,789.1 thousand soms, in transportation and storage by 5,515.8 thousand soms, in industry by 3,407.9 thousand soms, in accommodation and food services by 2,824.6 thousand soms, and in construction by 2,728.6 thousand soms.

Within industry, the average monthly salary amounted to 7,301 thousand soms, including 9,646.5 thousand soms in mining, 8,979.4 thousand soms in electricity, gas, and air conditioning supply, 6,987.2 thousand soms in manufacturing, and 4,721.8 thousand soms in water supply and waste management.

In trade, the average monthly salary reached 6,875.6 thousand soms, with wholesale and retail trade of automobiles and motorcycles at 9,014.9 thousand soms, wholesale trade (excluding vehicles) at 7,165.7 thousand soms, and retail trade (excluding vehicles) at 6,323.9 thousand soms.

In transportation and storage, the average monthly salary was 9,382.1 thousand soms, including warehousing and auxiliary transport at 10,324.2 thousand soms, land and pipeline transportation at 7,948.0 thousand soms, and postal and courier activities at 4,314.1 thousand soms.

Average salaries in information technology and communications reached 14,985.8 thousand soms, with programming and consulting at 19,995.7 thousand soms, IT services at 18,642.9 thousand soms, and telecommunications at 11,758.6 thousand soms.

In banking, insurance, and finance, the average monthly salary was 16,828.9 thousand soms, including insurance and pension funds at 20,972.9 thousand soms, auxiliary financial services at 18,142.8 thousand soms, and other financial services at 16,456.3 thousand soms.

In education, the average monthly salary reached 4,188.5 thousand soms, with higher education at 9,513.3 thousand soms, technical and vocational education at 4,259.7 thousand soms, general secondary education at 4,136.7 thousand soms, and preschool education at 2,771.5 thousand soms.
