Average Monthly Salary in Uzbekistan Rises 17% in First Half of 2025, Exceeding 5.9 Million Soums

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In January–June 2025, the average monthly salary in the Republic of Uzbekistan reached 5,982,300 soums, marking a 17.2% increase compared to the same period last year.

The highest nominal average salary was recorded in Tashkent city, where it reached 10,138,400 soums — 18.8% more than in the previous year. In Syrdarya region, the figure stood at 4,789,800 soums (up 18.0%), in Jizzakh — 4,476,800 soums (17.0%), in Fergana — 4,443,800 soums (16.9%), in Namangan — 4,350,100 soums (16.6%), and in Surkhandarya — 4,256,500 soums (16.1%).

In Andijan region, the average monthly salary reached 4,935,300 soums (an increase of 11.0%), in Navoi — 7,486,400 soums (13.4%), in Karakalpakstan — 4,757,200 soums (14.2%), in Kashkadarya — 4,148,300 soums (14.3%), in Bukhara — 4,787,300 soums (14.8%), in Tashkent region — 5,674,400 soums (15.3%), in Khorezm — 4,720,100 soums (15.6%), and in Samarkand — 4,435,400 soums (15.8%). Although the growth rates in these regions were relatively lower, they remained stable.

Among economic sectors, the most significant salary growth was observed in arts, entertainment, and recreation, where the average salary rose to 5,036,800 soums — a 20.7% increase over the same period in 2024. In the education sector, salaries rose by 18.3% to reach 4,141,800 soums. In information and communications, average salaries grew by 17.0% to 14,785,800 soums. In transportation and storage, the figure reached 9,006,600 soums (up 16.0%), while in industry it stood at 7,173,100 soums (15.4%).

More modest growth was observed in the accommodation and food services sector, where average salaries reached 4,592,600 soums (up 4.5%). In the construction sector, the average was 5,888,300 soums (up 6.1%), and in healthcare and social services — 3,697,300 soums (up 12.4%). In the trade sector, salaries averaged 6,700,900 soums (12.8%). In the financial sector — encompassing banking, insurance, lending, leasing, and financial intermediation — the average salary reached 16,252,900 soums, reflecting a 13.9% increase.

Over the past five years, several sectors have shown substantial salary increases. In the banking and financial sector, average salaries rose by 8,921,600 soums compared to the first half of 2021. In information and communications, the increase was 9,645,200 soums; in logistics and storage — 5,317,100 soums; in industry — 3,377,200 soums; in construction — 2,148,000 soums; and in arts and entertainment — 2,490,800 soums.

Within the industrial sector, the average monthly salaries were distributed as follows: in mining — 9,723,100 soums, in electricity and heat supply — 8,687,500 soums, in manufacturing — 6,868,100 soums, and in water supply and waste management — 4,610,000 soums.

In the trade sector, salaries also varied: in wholesale and retail trade of motor vehicles and motorcycles — 8,676,800 soums, in wholesale trade (excluding vehicles) — 7,092,100 soums, and in retail trade — 6,118,000 soums.

In the transport and logistics sector, the average salary was 9,006,600 soums. In warehousing and support activities for transportation — 10,425,000 soums; in land and pipeline transport — 7,595,600 soums; and in postal and courier services — 4,246,600 soums.

In the ICT sector (information technology and communications), the average salary was 14,785,800 soums. By segment: programming and IT consulting — 19,410,700 soums, information services — 18,472,600 soums, and telecommunications — 11,672,800 soums.

The financial sector continues to post high figures: in social insurance, pensions, and reinsurance — 19,627,800 soums; in insurance and related financial services — 19,518,200 soums; and in other financial services — 15,898,900 soums.

In the education sector, the average salary was 4,141,800 soums. By levels: in higher education — 9,574,500 soums, in technical and vocational education — 4,203,600 soums, and in general secondary education — 3,890,000 soums.
