Average Market Prices for Propane in Uzbekistan Drop 18% Following Antimonopoly Measures
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Committee for Competition Development reported that average market prices for propane have fallen from 9.3 million soums to 7.8 million soums per ton, a decrease of 18%, following measures aimed at stabilizing the market.
Analysis of propane trading on the exchange in November–December 2025 and January 2026 revealed signs of anti-competitive collusion among 92 importers, who were found to have artificially raised starting prices and restricted volumes released on the market.
Antimonopoly measures were applied to businesses across multiple regions: 5 companies in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, 7 in Andijan, 3 in Bukhara, 13 in Ferghana, 4 in Namangan, 5 in Kashkadarya, 17 in Samarkand, 4 in Syrdarya, 21 in Tashkent city, 1 in Tashkent region, and 12 in Khorezm.
The committee continues to monitor retail fuel prices at gas stations to prevent unjustified increases in costs for consumers.
