Attempted Illegal Export of Medicines to Tajikistan Prevented
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Servicemen of the Border Troops of the State Security Service, jointly with customs officials, have prevented an attempt to illegally export a large batch of pharmaceutical products through the Farhad border and customs checkpoint in the city of Bekabad.
During an inspection, a Lochin-brand motorcycle heading to the Republic of Tajikistan and driven by a local resident born in 1999 was stopped and checked.
Hidden and undeclared medicines were discovered in the trailer of the vehicle among food products, including Immunoglobulin, Ferritin and other pharmaceutical preparations.
In total, 21 types of medicines with an estimated total value of around 1.05 billion soums were seized.
The pharmaceuticals were documented in accordance with procedural requirements and confiscated.
An expert examination of the seized medicines has been назначена, and a pre-investigation inquiry is currently underway.
