Attempted Human Trafficking to Send Victims Abroad Foiled in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Officers from the State Security Service and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan conducted a joint operation to combat human trafficking.
At Tashkent International Airport, a 25-year-old resident of the capital, S.N., was detained while attempting to send two citizens to Thailand for the purpose of engaging in prostitution.
The investigation revealed that the crime was orchestrated by F.A., born in 2005, who is currently located in Thailand.
Criminal proceedings have been initiated against the detained individuals under points “b,” “g,” “e,” and “z” of Part 2, Article 135 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Investigative actions are ongoing.
