Athletes Achieving Top Results at World Championships Awarded BYD Cars and Cash Prizes
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Athletes and their coaches who achieved high results at world championships in boxing, weightlifting, and canoe/kayak racing were awarded presidential gifts.
Gold medalists received cash prizes of US$15,000, silver medalists US$7,500, and bronze medalists US$3,750. Coaches received one-time payments equal to half of the amount awarded to their athletes.
In addition, gold medal winners were presented with keys to BYD Song Plus Champion cars, while silver and bronze medalists received BYD Chazor vehicles.
Ruslan Nurudinov set a new personal world record and became a three-time world champion at the World Weightlifting Championship in Bahrain.
At the Canoe and Kayak World Championship held in Milan, Artur Guliyev won a gold medal.
The Uzbekistan national boxing team claimed 11 medals at the World Championship in Liverpool, UK, including six gold, two silver, and three bronze.
