Astana Hosts the Third General Assembly of the Union of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Turkic-Speaking Countries
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 8 January 2026, Astana hosted the Third General Assembly of the Union of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Turkic-Speaking Countries, a key platform for advancing economic cooperation within the Turkic world.
For the first time since the establishment of the organization, the chairmanship of the Union was transferred to Kazakhstan.
The assembly was attended by advisers to the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, Alisher Shaikhov and Jamil Maksudi.
The Union of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Turkic Countries was founded in 2019 as an international platform to promote the development of trade, industrial, investment and technological ties among member and observer states of the Organization of Turkic States. Its current members include Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Türkiye, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan, as well as Hungary.
Participants in the assembly discussed priority areas of cooperation for the upcoming period.
These include the development of industrial cooperation and joint projects, the activation of instruments of the Turkic Investment Fund, the reduction of trade and technical barriers, and the strengthening of transport and logistics connectivity, including the development of international routes and logistics corridors.
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan reaffirmed its readiness to actively participate in initiatives aimed at shaping a unified economic space among Turkic states and achieving tangible economic outcomes.
