Asian Development Bank to Continue Supporting Tax Administration Reforms in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Today, Chairman of the State Tax Committee Farrukh Pulatov held a working meeting with a delegation of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) led by Kanokpan Lao-Araya, Director of the Bank’s Resident Mission in Uzbekistan.

During the discussions, the sides reviewed the current state of the country’s tax administration system and outlined promising areas for further cooperation.

Particular attention was paid to the digitalisation of processes, enhancing transparency, improving tax control mechanisms, and introducing modern approaches to tax administration.

The Bank reaffirmed its readiness to provide technical assistance in implementing the reforms initiated by the State Tax Committee, including joint projects with the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank.

This support will be provided within the framework of Uzbekistan’s tax system modernisation strategy through 2030, with a focus on increasing administrative efficiency and expanding digital oversight tools.
