Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 24 June 2020, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sherzod Asadov held talks with the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Norway, Audun Halvorsen, in the form of video conference.

The parties discussed the current state and priority directions for the further development of multifaceted Uzbek-Norwegian cooperation. In particular, they noted an interest in strengthening political dialogue and enhancing interaction between the parliaments of the two countries.

Deputy Foreign Ministers noted that there was a large untapped potential in the trade and economic sphere and spoke in favor of intensifying long-term partnerships between leading companies of the two countries. Mutual interest was expressed in the implementation of joint investment projects involving Norwegian investments and technologies.

The prospects of cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian sphere and the tourism sector were examined.

The talks also held an exchange of views on issues of interaction within the framework of international organizations.
