Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Samir al-Najjar, head of the Saudi charity Wakf Foundation, as well as a group of cardiologists and surgeons, only 10 people, arrived in Uzbekistan to conduct a charity event to conduct gratuitous heart operations on coronary stenting with patients from low-income families, the correspondent of Dunyo reported.
As part of the action, about 100 surgical operations will be performed in the city of Ferghana and Ferghana region.
Financial support for this action is provided by the Saudi Samir Said Al-Najar Saudi Charity Vacuum Foundation (the cities of Mecca and Taif), which agreed to allocate about US$250,000 for these purposes.
Great support in creating the conditions for the implementation of this project was provided by the Cabinet of Ministers, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Health, the Customs Committee of the Republic and the diplomatic missions of our country in Saudi Arabia.
According to the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Riyadh, this action will be the first phase of the project. Currently, the organization of the second phase is being worked out, involving the implementation of charity operations in other regions of our country.
