Artificial Intelligence: Uzbekistan Enters the Era of a Smart Economy
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The capital hosted the international KEY TECH conference: AI in Retail and E-Commerce, bringing together leaders from online retail, banking, commerce, and IT sectors.
Participants discussed how artificial intelligence (AI) is already transforming business processes, improving management efficiency, and establishing new standards for customer service.
Technological Impulse for E-Commerce
The conference opened with a presentation by Ismoiljon Iminokhunov (Servercore) on the role of GPU-clouds in reducing costs and accelerating AI model performance. Attendees included representatives from Uzum Market, Alif Shop, Wildberries, Wolt, NAPP, and other key industry players.
Sunnat Shamuratov, Business Development Director in Uzbekistan, emphasized that AI is no longer just a trend but a practical business tool: “GPUs allow running powerful models, processing large datasets, and making decisions at unprecedented speed.”
During a panel moderated by Muzaffar Azamov, Chairman of the Uzbekistan E-Commerce Association, experts explored AI’s potential in online commerce and its impact on the sector’s future. Kamronbek Muhammadiev (NAPP) noted: “AI should not be compared to humans. It is a tool that assists humans. Its potential is unlocked through practical testing.”
Banking Sector: AI as a Tool for Efficiency
The second session focused on AI in banking. Aziz Siyaev, Director of AI Development at InfinBANK, presented real-world applications improving analytics accuracy and client personalization.
A panel moderated by Ulugbek Tavakkalov (Kapitalbank) included representatives from AVO Bank, Microcreditbank, and InfinBANK. Experts agreed that AI has moved beyond experimentation and is now a key competitive advantage.
“For us, AI helps better understand clients and make banking interactions more convenient. We create digital solutions that serve people,” said Siyaev.
Retail Powered by AI
The final session gathered representatives from Magnit OMNI, Texnomart, OXYmed GO, and Massimo Dutti. Laziz Adkhamov (LINKO / WINGO) described how AI assists small businesses in pricing optimization, demand forecasting, and logistics efficiency.
Moderator Vladislav Dolenko (AIN Property Management) noted that AI personalizes the customer journey, from selection to purchase.
Towards a Smart Economy
The KEY TECH conference demonstrated that AI is at the core of Uzbekistan’s digital transformation, integrating data, analytics, and customer experience to create an ecosystem driven by precise decision-making.
Taufik Khisamov, CEO of Khisam Communications, said: “KEY TECH provided a platform for discussing tangible AI implementation steps. By the end of 2026, at least 100 projects in public administration, social sectors, and the economy will be launched, in line with the presidential AI development program.”
The event concluded with the recognition that Uzbekistan is confidently moving toward a smart economy — ethical, technology-driven, and human-centered.
