Around 70 Online Platforms Promoting Bookmakers Blocked in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Competition Committee has reported the results of its efforts to curb the spread of gambling and bookmaker advertising online.

The agency conducts continuous monitoring of websites engaged in the “promotion of gambling and risk-based games” and coordinates with relevant authorities to take prompt action.

Since the beginning of the year, the committee has submitted information regarding the need to block 86 platforms promoting bookmaker services. According to the agency, around 70 of these sites have been blocked in accordance with established procedures.

The committee reminded that Article 46 of the Law “On Advertising” prohibits the placement of advertisements for gambling and risk-based games within Uzbekistan.

The regulatory body intends to continue systematic monitoring and enforcement to prevent similar violations.
