Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Five Uzbek boxers claimed victories on the fourth day of the World Boxing Championships in Liverpool, advancing to the next stage of the tournament.
Mirazizbek Mirzakhalilov, competing in the 55 kg category, confidently defeated India’s Pawan Bartwal with a 5:0 score. His next fight is scheduled for 9 September.
In the 80 kg division, Javokhir Ummataliyev had little trouble against Poland’s Nikodem Kozak, sending him to the canvas and sealing a 5:0 win. He will step into the quarterfinals on 9 September.
Khumorabonu Mamajonova (57 kg) reached the quarterfinals after a convincing 5:0 victory over Montenegro’s Bojana Gojkovic. She will fight for a semifinal spot on 10 September.
Aziza Zokirova, in the 70 kg category, dominated Hungary’s Regina Lakos, finishing the bout with a technical knockout in the third round. She will also compete in the quarterfinals on September 9.
Asadkhuja Muydinkhujaev (65 kg) defeated China’s Jianhao Zhu with a 5:0 score, earning his place in the next stage of the tournament.
