Another 16 enterprises to be commissioned on the territory of the Tashkent Mechanical Plant
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Tashkent Mechanical Plant in Yashnabad district of Tashkent on 28 June.
Today, more than 10 enterprises operate here, more than 2.5 thousand people work. However, this does not correspond to the potential of this huge complex, which covers an area of 141 hectares. For the effective implementation of its capabilities, a technopark was organized at the plant.
The head of state reviewed the presentation of projects to be implemented in the technopark.
So, in the years 2019-2020, it is planned to commission 16 enterprises with a total value of almost US$385 million. It is planned that they will produce more than 1 million washing machines, 1 million cookers, the same amount of household refrigerators, 75 thousand commercial refrigerators and freezers, 700 thousand electric water heaters, 550 thousand hydraulic pumps, 80 thousand industrial air conditioners, 2 thousand elevators and escalators as well as aluminum and bimetallic radiators, accessories, sandwich panels, linoleum and other products. It is expected to create about 9 thousand jobs and export products at nearly US$185 million per year.
The President noted that for the stable operation of enterprises, regular customers are needed, it would be possible to establish cooperation with factories abroad and manufacture products and spare parts demanded by them. Instructions are given on the development of new projects, the rational allocation of production, taking into account the needs of jobs and available resources.
It also tells about plans to attract foreign direct investment in the districts of Tashkent and increase the export potential of the city.
